As the Rain Falls

$25.00

Snap, a young man of nineteen, struggles to live on the gloomy and wet street corners and bus stops of Seattle. As his intake of narcotics readily increases, he daydreams of getting clean, and imagines what a life without the constant drug use would look like for him and his girlfriend, Chard. Over the course of a week, Snap fantasizes and attempts to quit the multitude of drugs he uses and fix up his life so there may be a future for himself and Chard.

Meanwhile, in the cosmos, planetary beings play at romance as Mother Nature, The Sun, and The Moon navigate the complexities of being polyamorous, to varying degrees of success.

An homage to his hometown of Seattle and the greater Washington state in general, Plauche’s novel As The Rain Falls explores love, trauma, and addiction as well as where all of those things intersect. Be it beings in the stars or people struggling to get off the floor they slept on the night before, As The Rain Falls acts as a reminder to think about what anyone could be going through, and to offer up compassion within one’s relationships.
